• Started playing chess at age six
• Won the Yugoslavian Chess Championship in 1947, 1949, and 1950
• Represented Yugoslavia in the Chess Olympiad in 1952, 1954, and 1956
• Won the World Senior Chess Championship in 1989, 1991, and 1993
• Awarded the title of Grandmaster in 1950
• Represented Yugoslavia at the World Chess Championship in 1953, 1959, and 1962
• Published several books on chess, including “Chess Strategy” and “Chess Tactics”
• Died in 2012 at the age of 89
